Overview of Padar Island

We regularly offer tours to Burung Island, a beautiful and serene destination located near Labuan Bajo—perfect for a relaxing day trip. The island can be reached in approximately one hour by boat, with the most convenient departure point from Kampung Rangko, taking less than an hour.
Burung Island is often included in snorkeling itineraries alongside the nearby small islands of Sabolo and Hatamin. These locations are renowned for their crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and rich marine biodiversity, making them ideal for both beginner and experienced snorkelers.

The name “Burung” means “bird” in Indonesian, possibly inspired by the island’s shape or its past as a resting place for birds. Interestingly, during our visit in 2022, we did not encounter any birds. Locals share that in the past, birds frequently visited the island, attracted by its peaceful and remote setting.
At low tide, a wide stretch of white sandy beach emerges, enhancing the island’s natural charm. Known for its tranquil atmosphere, Burung Island is a favorite spot for relaxation, photography, and eco-tourism. Many travelers choose to combine their visit with nearby highlights such as Komodo National Park, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
